We welcome volunteers aged 16 years and over who are enthusiastic, reliable, and keen to get involved — whether you are looking to gain practical experience, spend time outdoors, support your wellbeing, or give back in a meaningful way.
Volunteering opportunities are available seven days a week, offering flexibility to fit around education, work, or other commitments.

You may assist with caring for and interacting with a range of animals including chickens, alpacas, ponies, horses, goats, ducks, sheep, and guinea pigs. Tasks can include feeding, grooming, mucking out, maintaining enclosures, helping with seasonal jobs, and supporting community activities. Volunteers have the opportunity to build confidence working hands-on with animals in a supportive and structured environment.
Full training and ongoing support are provided, ensuring every volunteer feels confident, safe, and valued in their role. We take pride in creating an inclusive and welcoming environment where individuals can learn at their own pace.

In addition to gaining practical animal care and land-based skills, volunteers can enjoy improved wellbeing through time spent outdoors, opportunities to develop teamwork and communication skills, increased confidence and responsibility, and valuable experience for CVs, college applications, or career progression.
Most importantly, volunteers become part of a friendly and supportive community, making a genuine difference while enjoying the unique experience of farm life.
For an informal discussion or further information, please email us at enquiries@downsidefarm.co.uk. Alternatively, you can complete the attached volunteer application form.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Downside Farm community.
